Asia Digital Marketing Expo (#ADME): Key Takeaways

Last July 26, I was invited to an awesome event called Asia Digital Marketing Expo (#ADME) at SMX SM Aura by Pinoy Bloggers.

Organized by Tag Media, ADME brought the bigwigs of the digital marketing and ecommerce industry together to share their insights and best practices in the industry.  The Expo also offered the speakers, participants and sponsors to network and meet new people from different industries including bloggers like myself.

Since the event was a whole day affair, the panel was divided into four panel discussions with panelists like Janette Toral of Digital Filipino, Tina Pang- Twitter Sales Head, and Constantin Roberts of Zalora to name a few.

And because of the number of speakers/panelists, there was quite a lot of information/insights to sift through but here's a few that resonated with me the most and would like to share with everyone.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

"If you don't innovate, you evaporate."
-- Forgot who said this but I think this is on-point. Businesses, big or small, must learn to keep up with the times and embrace innovation/change.

"Take care of your community and your community takes care of you." - Donald Lim, Chief Digital Officer, ABSCBN
-- Listen to your customers and show them that they matter. If you do, you'll gain not just customers but loyal brand ambassadors.

"Marketing is creating awareness of your brand." - Chinkee Tan
-- Sales and marketing are two different things. Know the difference.

"Be authentic." - Constantin Robertz, Managing Director, Zalora
-- Whether it's business or personal, staying true to your ideals and beliefs pays off. Don't over-promise and under-deliver.

These are just some of the insights I've gained from the Expo and I am so glad that I get to experience this. Not only do I get to learn, I was able to network and enjoy awesome food. Here are some of the pictures from the events.
